AI agent testing
An AI agent decides which tools to call and what to do next, so a wrong step can change real data. We test whether the agent picks the right tool with the right inputs, stays inside its permissions, recovers from errors and stops when it should, and we repeat each scenario to measure how reliable it is.
What makes agents harder to test than chatbots?
An agent acts, not only answers. It plans several steps, calls tools and uses the results, and the path can differ on every run. A single pass or fail tells you little. We look at the whole sequence of steps and at how often the agent reaches the right outcome.
What do you check?
Whether it chooses the right tool, passes valid arguments, respects permission limits, asks for approval before risky actions, handles tool errors without making things up, and stops instead of looping. We also check that repeating a request doesn’t duplicate an action, such as sending two refunds.
- Right tool, valid arguments
- Permission limits and approval steps
- Honest handling of tool errors
- No endless loops or runaway cost
- No duplicate actions when a request repeats
How do you test actions safely?
We run agents against a sandbox or mocked tools, with test accounts and test data, so nothing real changes. Every step is logged. For actions that matter most, such as payments or deleting data, we confirm the safeguards work in the sandbox first.
How do you measure reliability?
We run each scenario many times and report the pass rate and how much results vary between runs. An agent that succeeds most of the time but fails unpredictably is a different risk from one that fails the same way every time, and each needs a different fix.
What does AI agent testing cost?
Each project is quoted on its scope, so there’s no price list. The main cost drivers are how many tools the agent can call, how many scenarios matter, how risky its actions are, whether a safe sandbox exists, and how many repeat runs you need. Request a quote and we reply by email.
Frequently asked questions
Which agent frameworks do you test?
Any. We test through the interface or API your agent exposes, and through the logs of its tool calls.
Can you test multi-agent systems?
Yes, by testing the outcome and the hand-offs between agents. Scope grows with the number of agents and tools, which we reflect in the quote.
Do you need production access?
No. We prefer a sandbox with test data, so nothing real can change.
